CPVB COBRE Service Cores

Cell Isolation and Organ Function Core

The function of the Cell Isolation and Tissue Culture Core is to provide efficient, economical, and reproducible isolation of pulmonary and cardiac endothelial cells, fibroblasts, vascular smooth muscle cells, epithelial cells, macrophages; propagation, and phenotypic characterization and function.

To provide measurement of heart, lung, and vessel function, in vivo angiogenesis, and transient gene manipulation in vivo. The COBRE Core will provide expertise and state of the art equipment for assessing heart, lung, and vessel function, in vivo angiogenesis, and transient gene manipulation in vivo. The Cell/Organ Core has been measuring heart and lung function using echocardiogram and Flexivent™ methodological approach.

Mitochondrial Function and In Vivo Imaging (MF-II) Core

The mission of the Respiratory Core is to develop centralized systems for cardiopulmonary structural/functional assessments and mitochondrial function analysis, with the goal to enhance the productivity and the research impact of CPVB COBRE investigators and others in the state of Rhode Island. We are committed to providing reproducible, economical, and high-quality services. We offer consultation on experimental design, provide cutting edge technological approaches and high-end instrumentation, generate and analyze data.
