Organ Function Sub Core

Function/ Services of the CORE:

To provide measurement of heart, lung, and vessel function, in vivo angiogenesis, and transient gene manipulation in vivo. The COBRE Core will provide expertise and state of the art equipment for assessing heart, lung, and vessel function, in vivo angiogenesis, and transient gene manipulation in vivo. The Cell/Organ Core has been measuring heart and lung function using echocardiogram and Flexivent™ methodological approach. The Core has developed the liposome-mediated introduction of cDNA into mouse lungs and assesses in vivo angiogenesis. Both of these techniques are available to users upon request. Further, since purchasing the laser Doppler imaging equipment, the Core has been performing vessel flow.
