Advances in Right Heart Biology (From Physiology to Therapeutics)
Program Description
The Right Heart Biology Conference is an educational, interactive conference that discusses pulmonary hypertension which affects about 1% of the world population and is frequently associated with cardiopulmonary and metabolic diseases. Right heart dysfunction dictates the poor outcomes associated with pulmonary hypertension. Yet, there are no specific therapies targeted towards the failing right heart. This educational activity brings together physicians and scientists from varied disciplines actively pursuing research to understand the molecular, cellular, and biomechanical mechanisms underlying right heart dysfunction, and novel translational and therapeutic strategies to begin to address this unmet need.
